Standard Jack

おそらく世界のガラス吹きが一番使用しているジャックのタイプです。まるこツールでもハンドルとブレードの組み合わせが一番多いタイプです。
ブレードの断面形状はクサビ形ですが 、まるこツールではしなりを少なくすること、また作業時ガラスとの接面を滑らかにすることを目的に少し曲面に仕上げています。 This is probably the most commonly used type of jack for glass blowing worldwide. It also has the greatest number of combinations of handles and blades of all the jacks in our catalog. The cross-section of the blade is wedge-shaped, but the Maruko Tools version has a slightly curved surface in order to reduce bending and smooth the contact surface with the glass during work. |
Oval Jack

まるこツールとしてジャックを作り始めた頃、高橋禎彦君に製作依頼をされ、初めて目にしたジャックです。サンプルとして見せていただいたDINO製の8インチをコピー製作したのが始まりです。
ブレード断面は楕円形で丸い形状なのでガラスとの接し方が少なく ガラスが少々冷めていても成形することが可能です。また接面が小さいので、抵抗が少なく滑らかに作業ができます。 When I started Maruko Tools, my friend, Yoshihiko Takahashi, asked me to make jacks. He showed me a DINO 8-inch oval, which was the first type of jack I ever saw, and I began by copying that sample. The cross-section of this blade is elliptical and round, so there is little contact with the glass, and you can work with it even if the glass has cooled a bit. In addition, since the contact surface is small, there is little resistance, which makes your work easier. |
Goblet Jack Standard Blade

ブレードの外側形状がStandard Jackのブレード形と同じカーブを描いています。そのため曲面を利用した製作が可能になります。
The outer shape of the blade has the same curve as the standard jack, so it is a good tool when you are trying to make a curved surface. |
Goblet Jack Oval Blade

ブレード外側は直線になっていて、ゴブレットを製作するためだけに使用するジャックです。中級者以上が使うべきジャックです。
This jack is used only for making goblets. The outside of the blade is straight. For various reasons, this tool is better suited to more experienced artists. |
Cup Jack Standard Blade

Goblet Jackと同じブレードを使用した、小物製作用に便利なジャックです。ブレードが薄く、ガラスからの熱を奪いにくいので、作業時間が長めに使えます。特に初心者が初めて購入するジャックとしておすすめです。
The Cup Jack, Standard Blade is a convenient jack for making small items. It uses the same blade as the Goblet Jack. The blade is thin and does not easily absorb heat, so you can use it for a longer time. This tool is particularly recommended for beginners. |
Cup Jack Oval Blade

Oval Bladeは先端がほぼラウンド（まる棒状）で尖っています。Standard Bladeより幅は細めですが、楕円形の断面なので 括り作業はしにくいものの、しなりが少なく丸いので強さがあります。 中級者向けです。
The end of the Oval Blade is almost round (like a round bar), with a pointed tip. It is narrower than the Standard Blade, with an oval cross section. It is rounder, less flexible, and stronger, too. This is a good tool for intermediate users. |
Narrow Cup Jack

通常のCup Jackは写真上でハンドル幅が40mm、重量300gですが、Narrowタイプはハンドル幅27mm、重量250gです。ハンドルマーバー部分が狭いのでその分軽く、軽作業またはプロダクション作業には手首の負担が少なく有利です。
ブレードの長さはボイド・スギキ氏の提案で180mmとしましたので使いやすくなっています。ブレードはStandard、Ovalの2種類を用意しています。 ※ボイド・スギキ氏の詳細はこちらへ The normal Cup Jack has a handle width of 40mm and weighs 300g, whereas this Narrow type has a 27mm wide handle, and weighs just 250g. The narrow handle makes the jack lighter, which is good for light work or production work, as it reduces the strain on your wrist. The length of the blade is 180mm (I have to thank Seattle glass artist Boyd Sugiki* for this suggestion). Pacioffi

まるこツールのPacioffiはステンレス製なので、ウッドスティックをつけたまま水桶に入れていても錆びることはありません。内径は19φです。
